Another Mouth to Feed

Brandi and I have thought for a while about adopting. This morning, those thoughts became reality.

Meet Luna.

She's a four-month-old former stray who comes to us from the Miami County Animal Shelter. And, to be perfectly honest, she adopted us, not the other way around. As soon as we stepped into the kitty room, she reached her paw out of her cage and stretched it toward us as far as it would go. When we got her out, she clung to each of us, and it was really no contest from there. She had a little competition from a very cute Calico who seemed to be a little standoffish and possibly bipolar as well.

I think we made the right choice. Luna is very friendly, not people-shy in the least. She's also very long and lean, and when she stretches out for something (particularly if she's up on her back legs when she does so), she looks like a meerkat.

Needless to say, Brandi is very, very excited to have a new friend.
