Football Picks, NFL Week 14

It's getting down to crunch time in the NFL, with only four games left in the regular season. Anything can happen, and that makes the predictions fun. I took the crown again last week, going 14-7 (10-6 NFL, 4-1 NCAA) to Brandi's 12-9 (9-7 NFL, 3-2 NCAA). I was rewarded with buffalo tenders from BW3, oh yeah. Here we go for this week:

(5-7) Chicago @ Jacksonville (6-6)
(5-7) NY Giants @ Baltimore (7-5)
(9-3) Indianapolis @ Houston (5-7)
(3-9) Cleveland @ Buffalo (6-6)
(4-8) New Orleans @ Dallas (5-7)
(4-8) Oakland @ Atlanta (9-3)
(6-6) Seattle @ Minnesota (7-3)
(6-6) Cincinnati @ New England (11-1)
(9-3) NY Jets @ Pittsburgh (11-1)
(2-10) Miami @ Denver (7-5)
(5-7) Detroit @ Green Bay (7-5)
(5-7) Tampa Bay @ San Diego (9-3)
(6-6) St. Louis @ Carolina (5-7)
(1-11) San Francisco @ Arizona (4-8)
(11-1) Philadelphia @ Washington (4-8)
(4-8) Kansas City @ Tennessee (4-8)

In the college game, the regular season is over, and the Heisman Trophy winner will be announced this weekend. I think Matt Leinart from USC will probably win, although I think it would be pretty cool to see Utah's Alex Smith win instead. At any rate, the bowl season starts next Tuesday with the New Orleans bowl:

(6-5) Southern Miss vs. North Texas (7-4) - Louisiana Superdome

With the regular season over and the bowl matchups set, there has been a lot of talk about the less-than-optimal situation the BCS has set up for the national championship, what with three undefeated teams and all. What's that you say? There are actually five undefeated teams? Oh, that's right! With the lack of media coverage, I had totally forgotten about Utah and Boise State. Somehow Utah is out of consideration for the national championship, and Boise State didn't even make it into a "major" bowl. I feel a major rant coming on this topic, so I'll leave it for now, but needless to say, it really irritates me.
